1st Boys' Birthday Party

Lori celebrates with a birthday party every other month (celebrating two months together). Lori prepares all day long as she makes cakes, purchases pop, and makes up special birthday bags with goodies for each of the boys putting a ticket on each bag which allows them to get a new t-shirt of their choice that we purchase at a factory in country that says El Sembrador. The boys really enjoy their gifts as for many it is the first birthday party of their lives. The event begins with our music team leading songs, then the Bible School students lead fun games, next Lori asks all the campus ladies to come up front. Half the ladies help her pass out the birthday bags to the boys giving them a special birthday hug and kiss, while the others begin to pour the drinks and get ready to serve the refreshments. The entire campus, boys and staff alike, come to the event. We usually serve over one-hundred-seventy people.

El Sembrador Sponsorship

Lori continues to present the sponsorship program to groups as they come. Lori usually presents the programs and then translates as boys give their testimonies. Then, group members can then choose a boy to sponsor. The team we have here currently had two sponsors before they came. Now we have a total of nine students being sponsored by this team alone. PRAISE GOD for how he moved this team to connect with the boys to provide funding for the school.

CMDA Team

Lori led the CMDA (Christian Medical & Dental Association) team this year. They were able to see each of our students as well as go out into many small communities who were in much need of medical and dental treatment. This team took four months of preparation, covering it with much prayer, planning where we would visit, and purchasing needed medical supplies. We were able to see 2,996 patients (both medical and dental) over the two week time period they were here. We give the glory to God for the people who gave their lives to the Lord because of coming to be treated medically, and finding something spiritually. Each team member left feeling they were blessed by much more than they came with.

Room Inspections

I do room inspections a few times a month, then there is a prize for the winning rooms from each dorm. They get to have dinner with our family (pizza, chicken dinner, etc.) for winning the cleanest rooms. This really encourages them to keep things looking good in their rooms.

ANNA TURNS 8 YEARS OLD

Anna turned 8 years old today. She wanted to celebrate by going to a restaurant in town that has a pool. She was able to choose a friend to bring, so she took Stefany Mendoza, a special friend of Anna's who is at our house daily. Mike & Karen Johannes were also with us. They have been volunteering at El Sembrador this past month and have been a tremendous help.

El Sembrador Missionaries

We have a good group of missionaries to work with here at El Sembrador. Each one has their own special areas and talents, but one thing is true of all of us.........We all love the boys!
